Getting your Trinity Audio player ready…
|
It has been years since I last wrote a proper post or anything of value, if we’re being honest.
Somewhere along the way, we migrated from MySpace to Friendster, then to Facebook. Facebook eventually became oversaturated with adults whining about everything. Mind you, I am an adult myself. These are supposed to be premium adults. Oh god, and we have to download apps for EVERYTHING.
Of course, I have adult money now too.
So I did the most reasonable thing possible: I bought a domain on impulse.
Partly because I absolutely love my freedom, and partly because I no longer want to wake up to random Instagram updates that somehow manage to ruin the layout of my profile every few months.
The OGs know, though. The real content creators were the kids who started with blogs.
Back when your personality wasn’t condensed into a fifteen-second video and a trending audio clip.
Somewhere during all of this, Twitter became “X” after Elon Musk bought it. Safe to say that was a spectacularly unsuccessful rebrand because everyone I know still calls it Twitter.
Some of you have been asking for my two cents again. In this economy, that’s probably worth at least five.
POFMA became a thing too, which means blogging is no longer typing whatever comes to mind and hitting publish. Now I have to proofread everything at least a thousand times before my two cents become a very expensive opinion.
Not that it matters much. A few of my tweets and TikToks did blow up here and there (you will never find them), but competing for attention on the internet is difficult when the algorithm has other priorities. The OnlyFans girlies have already won that battle, but that’s a discussion for another day.
If anything, Shein and TikTok should probably thank me personally for their growth. Word of mouth remains one of the fastest ways for a business to expand, and I was out there doing free marketing.
No lie though, I genuinely loved Shein because it was one of the few places where clothing felt inclusive. My not-so-Asian-sized Asian friends could actually buy things that fit.
And I miss TikTok when it was a platform for genuinely creative people. Before every few scrolls turned into someone complaining about life in Singapore.
Yes, yes. We are all suffering.
You are not that special.
And yes, yes, I know.
We’re all a little tired of PR-trained personalities, carefully curated opinions, and people engagement-farming for views, likes, shares, saves, reposts, and whatever metric the algorithm has decided to worship this week.
So let’s shake things up a little.
Let’s add some spice back into the internet.
After all, society has become far too polished, far too cautious, and frankly, a little too boring.
What could possibly go wrong?
